| Sorry, but that policy is outright stupid. People are interested in which record was sampled, not who composed it. In cases where the exact source is unknown listing the composer makes sense. But here we know the exact record used, thus the performer should be listed like on any other submission. [13-02-2025] |
| When sampling classical music, producers (and I would say almost everyone) usually don't care about the performer. And they are right because there's no significant difference between the performance of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra or the Wiener Philharmoniker, or the Russian National orchestra... (especially if the sample is sped up). Kno himself acknowledged that he sampled Tchaïkovski pour this track. So, I don't think it's "outright stupid" to give priority to the composer.
